Duff JohnsonIn June 2011 Duff was elected by the ISO committee to serve as one of two Project Co-Leaders of ISO 32000, the international standard for PDF technology, where he manages development of PDF 2.0, the next-generation Portable Document Format.

Duff’s standards development career began in 2005 when he volunteered to chair AIIM’s PDF/UA (Universal Accessibility) Committee. In July, 2012, PDF/UA-1 was published as ISO 14289., the international standard for accessible PDF documents and forms. The work continues; PDF/UA-2, to be based on PDF 2.0, is now under development, with Duff in the role of ISO Project Leader.

Stepping down from the organization’s Board, on October 1 2014 Duff became Executive Director of the PDF Association.
